Sridevi Biography, ‘Empress’ To Hit Bookshelves By Year-End (EXCLUSIVE)
The cover of author Dhiraj U. Kumarr’s “Empress - The Definitive Biography: Sridevi” was unveiled by Priyanka Chopra via her Instagram Stories on the late actress’s birth anniversary. That book is slated to hit bookshelves around December this year.
The tome, a “complete insight of her childhood,” saw the first-time author spend eight years gathering insights and interviewing people connected to Sridevi across locations in South India, including Tirupati and Madurai and of course, Mumbai.

Plans to publish the biography were first revealed in 2023, with Westland Books announcing the book under the title “Sridevi: The Life of a Legend,” promising an in-depth account of Sridevi's life, both on and off the camera.
On her Instagram Stories, Priyanka Chopra Jonas on Sridevi's birth anniversary shared an image of the cover with a caption that read: "The one and only. You are so missed. Happy heavenly birthday #Sridevi #Empress….coming soon." Boney Kapoor, who was tagged in the story, shared Priyanka's post on his own page.
Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018 in Dubai at the age of 54 of a cardiac arrest, is survived by her husband, producer Boney Kapoor and children, actors Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.
Sridevi’s final feature film, “Mom” (2017), directed by Ravi Udyawar, was her 300th film across a glorious five-decade-long career. For her performance in “Mom,” Sridevi was posthumously awarded the Best Actress Award at the 65th National Awards.
