Simone Ashley on Reuniting with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for Paris Fashion Week: ‘It’s the Moments We Have Backstage When We See Each Other’ (EXCLUSIVE)
Simone Ashley recently attended the Le Défilé 2026 show at Paris Fashion Week with her fellow L'Oréal Paris ambassadors. Speaking exclusively with Variety India, Simone shares her thoughts on meeting the other ambassadors, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Celine Dion, Eva Longoria, Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne and more, and why their backstage catch-ups are always special.
She says, “I think it’s the moments we have backstage when we see each other. We don’t get to spend much time together throughout the year, so it’s always really nice when we’re reunited and can catch up with each other."

The actress is walking at the L'Oréal Paris fashion show for the third time. When asked about being back on the runway, Simone quips, “It’s so exciting. This is my third year walking for them, so I know a little bit more of what to expect. I’m just super excited. It’s always one of the most fun days of the year.”
Simone has built a strong body of work with roles including Kate Sharma in “Bridgerton” and Amari Mari in “The Devil Wears Prada 2.” Reflecting on what these opportunities mean to her as an artiste, she says, “It means a lot. It’s so wonderful. I feel very privileged that I get to express my creativity and work with a variety of creatives I look up to. And if there’s a positive message conveyed in all of that, then I’m very proud."

Ashley says she feels fortunate to be working as an actor and focuses on choosing roles that allow her to represent women universally. “I don’t feel pressure. I think I’m so lucky to be in this line of work, and to be working at all. It’s a joy - I love my job so much. I think it’s about finding the right roles, but also executing and shaping them in a way that represents women universally and globally, not just in one particular region. So no, I don’t feel pressured by it,” she adds.
