A matter of pride
“The afternoon I went over and met Gulzarsaab at his house has been one of the most remarkable and touching experiences that I've had in this industry. He spoke about him [Vinod Mehra]. How he was as an artist, how sensitive he was, the special relationship that they shared and what a great man he thought he was. And all the things he said just made me feel so proud and it made me feel blessed that I'm Vinod Mehra’s son.”
Legacy-bearer
When asked if he feels the pressure to carry forward this legacy, Rohan offers an interesting perspective on it. “Not pressure, but I do feel the blessing of having the opportunity to carry that legacy. But that said, I do want to create my own legacy. People tell me how similar my interests are to his. They say that he even wanted to be a filmmaker and that he loved music. So it's uncanny that I've never met the man, but somehow in the weird, strange way the universe works, we have the same interests. And maybe, the legacy is naturally going to be carried forward in that way.”
After making his debut in the 2019 financial thriller film “Baazaar”, in which he got to work alongside Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte and others, Rohan Mehra has been praised for his performances in films like “420 IPC” and “Adbhut”, and series like “Kaala”. His next, a highly anticipated series on Netflix, titled “Family Business,” boasts quite a star cast, with Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma leading the fray.
