By Sakshi Navare,
Anupam Kher’s Jatayu takes centre stage in a new character poster from “Ramayana”, offering a closer look at the actor’s portrayal of the legendary bird who comes to the aid of Sita. Titled “Jatayu: The Wings of Dharma”, the poster features a striking close up of the bird’s face, with another depiction of Jatayu flying with his wings outstretched against a sky filled with birds.
The poster was unveiled by the film’s official social media handles, with the accompanying caption reading, “When evil took flight, courage rose to meet it. He fought not for victory, but for what was right.” It also confirms Kher’s casting as Jatayu, one of the key figures in the Ramayana whose encounter with Ravana becomes a defining moment in the epic.
In the story, Jatayu attempts to stop Ravana from abducting Sita and carries the news of her abduction to Rama after being gravely wounded in the confrontation. His intervention makes him an important figure in Rama’s search for Sita, with his actions rooted in duty and the willingness to stand against wrongdoing despite the odds.
