After enjoying a phenomenal opening weekend, “Mirzapur: The Movie” continued its dominance on the weekdays at the box office. The action-crime thriller raked in ₹125.35 crore in five days and will soon overtake Akshay Kumar’s “Welcome To The Jungle” (₹134.11 crore) and Emraan Hashmi’s “Awarapan 2” (₹150.36 crore*) to become the fifth-highest grosser of the year.

‘Mirzapur: The Movie’: ₹125.35 crore*
With the current trend, it could surpass “Dhamaal 4” and “Bhooth Bangla” to grab the third spot on the list. While the film has already emerged as a super-hit, it can attain blockbuster status if it maintains its momentum in the second week.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, the film stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan, Rasika Dugal, Abhishek Banerjee, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Shweta Tripathi, among others. The movie is set between Episodes 6 and 7 of Season 1.
Anand Bhaskar and John Stewart Eduri, who composed the music for the series, created the songs and background score for the film as well. Anand adapted two songs, "Vaaroon" and "Sajanwa Ki Gunwa" from the series, as "Varoon Forever" and a redux called "Sajanva." Other songs were composed by Ray, Junaid Kumar and Dhanda Nyoliwala, with background score by John Stewart Eduri.
Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar produced the film under their banner, Excel Entertainment, along with Amazon MGM Studios.
