The first weekend of September turned out to be eventful, with new and holdover releases clocking strong numbers at the box office. Among them, “Mirzapur: The Movie,” “Hanuman Ansh' and “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” contributed significantly to turn the last three days into one of the biggest weekends of the year.
Dominance of ‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ and ‘Hanuman Ansh’
Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyenndu-starrer “Mirzapur: The Movie” surpassed all estimates. The action-crime thriller raked in ₹93.75 crore in its opening weekend and is set to enter the ₹100 crore club today.
“Hanuman Ansh” is currently enjoying a historic run in the domestic market with extraordinary occupancy across the country. After collecting ₹49.25 crore in its fifth weekend, it stands at a total of ₹122.13 crore.

Despite the arrival of Dulquer Salmaan’s “I’m Game,” Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju’s “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” continued its strong run in the domestic market. In fact, the collections of the rom-com were on par with DQ’s fantasy action thriller, raking in ₹17.55 crore. On the other hand, “I’m Game” started its box office on a decent note with collections of ₹19 crore in its extended weekend of four days.
Irumudi Survives Among Clutter Of Telugu Releases
Ravi Teja’s “Irumudi” remained the first choice for the Telugu audiences despite the arrival of several releases. The family drama added ₹16.55 crore in its third weekend and now stands at ₹166.30 crore. With no major competition at the box office, it has a chance to cross the ₹200 crore mark during its theatrical run.
