From Karthi’s spy thriller "Sardar 2" and Priyadarshan’s "Haiwaan" to horror, romance, sports drama and survival stories, the September 10-11 window brings something for every kind of moviegoer. Here’s our guide to the films worth catching on the big screen.

HINDI 

Haiwaan 

Release date: September 11, 2026 

Priyadarshan’s “Haiwaan” brings Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and Mohanlal together in an action-crime thriller about a blind martial artist who must protect a young girl from a psychopath killer. With Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar also in the cast, the film’s unusual premise and star power make it a theatrical proposition.

Fall 2: Deadpoint 

Release date: September 11, 2026

Harriet Slater and Arsema Thomas star in Peter and Michael Spierig’s high-altitude survival thriller, which follows two women stranded 3,000 feet above the ground after a rockslide on a dangerous Thai climb. With Virginia Gardner, Grace Caroline Currey and Tom Brittney also featuring, the sequel turns vertigo itself into the attraction. 

MARATHI 

Jayanti 2

Release date: September 11, 2026

Shailesh Baliram Narwade’s “Jayanti 2” takes its story into the uncomfortable terrain of caste discrimination and ragging in higher education. Ruturaj Wankhede, Priyadarshini Indalkar, and Payal Jadhav headline the Marathi drama, which examines the barriers marginalized students face on campus. Its socially charged subject gives it relevance beyond conventional campus drama.

Bhata

Directed by Bharatraj Narayan Yadav, “Bhata” stars Mohan Joshi, Prashant Mohite and Rupali Jadhav, alongside Arun Nalawade, Anil Nagarkar and Vijay Kadam. The Marathi drama brings a rural ensemble together around its central conflict, with Joshi leading a cast of seasoned performers. Pidha Pachhi

Nishith Brahmbhatt’s Gujarati comedy-drama “Pidha Pachhi” follows Aditya and three friends whose bachelor trip spirals into a chaotic mystery after one wild night leaves them searching for answers. Akash Pandya, Smit Pandya, Hemin Trivedi, Akash Trivedi and Tarjani Bbhadla lead the cast. Friendship, mishaps and unexpected twists make it a light theatrical outing.

TAMIL 

Sardar 2

Release date: September 10, 2026

P.S. Mithran’s “Sardar 2” expands Karthi’s spy saga by splitting its story between Agent Sardar’s past and his son Vijay Prakash’s present-day mission. Karthi returns in dual roles, with S.J. Suryah as the antagonist and Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath and Rajisha Vijayan also starring. The espionage, action and Karthi-Suryah clash make this a big-screen draw.

Demonte Colony 3 

Release date: September 10, 2026

R. Ajay Gnanamuthu returns to the supernatural world of “Demonte Colony” with Arulnithi, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Meenakshi Govindarajan, Archana Ravichandran and Guru Somasundaram. The third chapter continues the franchise’s mythology as a mysterious book unleashes supernatural chaos. For horror fans, the returning cast and Gnanamuthu’s expanding franchise make this one to experience with an audience.

Mandaadi 

Release date: September 10, 2026

Directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendi, “Mandaadi” puts Soori at the center of a sea-bound sports drama rooted in boat racing, village rivalries and the lives of fishermen. Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Suhas and Ravindra Vijay also feature in it. The film combines large-scale maritime action with family emotion, making its racing sequences and coastal setting particularly suited to theatres.

TELUGU 

Maremma 

Release date: September 10, 2026

Nagaraj Manchala’s “Maremma” stars Deepa Balu, Maadhav Bhupathiraju and Mahesh Yadav Chintala in a rural Telangana-set action drama. The film follows a young man navigating a world where folklore, tradition and community tensions shape everyday life. Its grounding in rural culture and local folklore offers a distinct alternative to more conventional mainstream Telugu action fare.

Epic

Aditya Haasan’s “Epic: First Semester” stars Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, with Shivaji and Vasuki also featuring. The Telugu coming-of-age romance follows Rohan, a middle-class student studying abroad under family pressure as he navigates love, identity and growing up. Mahendragiri Varahi

Santhossh Jagarlapudi’s “Mahendragiri Varahi” follows an archaeologist whose search for a long-lost artifact plunges him into the mysteries and legends surrounding Mahendragiri. Sumanth leads a cast that includes Malvika Nair, Aishwarya Rajesh, Meenakshi Goswami, Brahmanandam and Vennela Kishore. Nagathihalli Chandrashekar returns to the world of “America America” with a sequel that follows Nudi to Seattle, where an encounter with someone from her past unsettles her present. Nirup Bhandari, Shanvi Srivastava, Mandya Ramesh and Achyuth Kumar star. For fans of relationship dramas, its mix of nostalgia, romance and second chances offers a compelling reason to revisit the franchise.

Namma Range Rover

O.S.R Kumar directs “Namma Range Rover,” a Kannada drama featuring Bank Janardhan, Meghna Rajput, Aravind Rao, Aata Sandeep and Yathiraj. A crime investigation draws a man into a dangerous mystery where a Range Rover holds more significance than it first appears.

PUNJABI 

Singh vs Kaur 2 

Release date: September 11, 2026

Navaniat Singh’s “Singh vs Kaur 2” stars Gippy Grewal and Shehnaaz Gill in a contemporary Punjabi comedy-drama that mixes conflict, romance and emotional stakes. The ensemble also includes Prince Kanwaljit Singh, Raghveer Boli and Honey Mattu. With Grewal and Gill driving the film and Singh returning to the franchise, it promises an easygoing crowd-pleaser for Punjabi audiences.

ODIA

Dahaan: The Evil Within

Anupam Patnaik’s “Dahaan: The Evil Within” follows a young girl who unleashes an ancient evil after opening a mysterious box inside a haunted mansion. Choudhury Jayaprakash and Barsha Nayak headline the Odia supernatural horror film, as the girl’s siblings and a pastor race to break the curse. Mahabahu: The Brahmaputra

Follows a scientific survey team studying flood patterns and soil erosion along the mighty Brahmaputra. When a disaster strands them in remote, hostile terrain, their research mission becomes a fight for survival, with the river’s unpredictable forces and ruthless criminals closing in. Directed by and starring Pranjal Pratim Chetia alongside Preety Kongana, the Assamese adventure thriller brings the Brahmaputra itself into the heart of the drama.
