‘Hanuman Ansh’ Follow-Up in the Works If ‘Everything Goes Right,’ Reveals Director Vishal Chaturvedi (EXCLUSIVE)
Vishal Chaturvedi's "Hanuman Ansh" has emerged as one of 2026’s sleeper hits. Made on a budget of a little over ₹1 crore, the film has crossed ₹80 crore in net collections in India. Centered on the life of Neem Karoli Baba and his devotion to Lord Hanuman, the film’s unexpected success has not only surprised its makers but also given them the confidence to explore a follow-up in the same genre.
In an exclusive chat with Variety India, Chaturvedi, who produced and directed the film, reveals that he already has several projects in development. “I run a script lab and have a collection of approximately 50-plus scripts, some written by me and some by others. So we definitely have plans to, you know, make more films,” he says.

About whether a follow-up to "Hanuman Ansh" in the same genre is in the pipeline, Chaturvedi says, “Yes, I am going to look and decide on our next film soon. So the thing is that I have films in different genres, but right now I believe that one more film in the same genre should be made.”
Whether the follow-up will once again explore the life of Neem Karoli Baba remains undecided. Chaturvedi shares, “There will be a follow-up in the future if everything goes right in terms of the producers and so on. But definitely, I have more subjects that I would like to work on that are in a similar genre to 'Hanuman Ansh'.”

Reflecting on the film’s success, Chaturvedi also has a message for budding filmmakers who are struggling to find their break. “I would like to say this to all budding filmmakers who are struggling: every time a door closes, there’s a bigger opportunity opening for you. You have to believe this. If you believe this, then one day you will hit that right point… that sweet spot.”
