Walt Disney Studios brought a taste of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next big chapter to San Diego Comic-Con Málaga 2026, taking the stage at Hall M of FYCMA (Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga) in Málaga, Spain. More than 3,000 fans gathered for a preview of some of the studio’s most anticipated upcoming projects, including "Avengers: Doomsday".

The presentation featured a recorded message from directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who are returning to the MCU to helm the highly anticipated film. The Russos then introduced a surprise appearance from three of the film’s stars: Anthony Mackie, David Harbour and Winston Duke, who reprise their respective roles as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Alexei/Red Guardian and M’Baku. The actors spoke about the upcoming film before attendees were shown an extended trailer.

But it was the latest poster for "Avengers: Doomsday" that is likely to leave Marvel fans with even more questions.

The new artwork places Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom front and center, offering another look at the actor’s transformation into one of Marvel Comics’ most iconic villains. However, Doom is not the only figure commanding attention. Standing behind him are three mysterious women dressed in distinctive purple, red and green robes, reigniting speculation about their identities and their connection to Latveria.

The mysterious trio have already become a talking point among MCU fans. They previously appeared in promotional material unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con in California in July, where their presence immediately sparked theories about who might be hiding beneath the robes.

One of the biggest questions surrounds the figure in purple. Some fans believe the character could be Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness, while another popular theory points to Charlize Theron’s Clea, who was introduced in a post-credits scene in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness."

For now, Marvel has not confirmed who any of the three witches are or exactly what role they will play in the story. Their presence alongside Doom could point to a deeper connection to Latveria, but it is equally possible that the trio are simply part of the forces standing between the Avengers and the film’s central villain.

With the studio continuing to keep details of "Avengers: Doomsday" closely guarded, the new poster gives fans another piece of the puzzle without answering the biggest questions.

Those answers will have to wait until "Avengers: Doomsday" arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026.
