The joint statement from HYBE and Geffen Records reads:
“Hello,
We are happy to share that Sophia will resume group activities with KATSEYE beginning the first week of January 2027.
Sophia has been prioritizing her health and well-being with our full support and resources. While Sophia will not be participating in “THE WILDWORLD TOUR” in North America, or promotional activities for the remainder of this year, we look forward to welcoming her back as KATSEYE continues this next chapter together in 2027.
We are incredibly grateful to EYEKONS for the continued love, support, and understanding you’ve shown Sophia and KATSEYE. Thank you for standing by her, and we look forward to celebrating her return with you in the new year.
Thank you. HxG”
The 23-year-old revealed plans to take a break in August earlier this year to prioritize “her mental health and wellness”. She skipped the group’s ongoing “THE WILDWORLD TOUR” starting with its European shows and will not be seen as part of the forthcoming gigs. She is also set to miss KATSEYE’s upcoming performance at the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to be held in Los Angeles on October 18 local time. They will be seen performing alongside Tate McRae, Megan Thee Stallion, and Megan Moroney.
While it has not been confirmed, Sophia is now expected to join fellow members at Lollapalooza India 2027, where it will headline the music festival alongside Olivia Dean, Limp Bizkit and Fontaines D.C. on January 23 and 24 at the Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai.
