‘Kathanar’ Trailer: Anushka Shetty, Jayasurya’s Movie Is A Fantasy Mounted On An Ambitious Scale

The trailer of “Kathanar” is out. The big-budget Malayalam movie stars Anushka Shetty and Jayasurya in the lead. It is also the debut of the “Baahubali” actress in the world of Malayalam movies. Rojin Thomas is the director of the same. Malayalam viewers showered a lot of love on Anushka Shetty for movies like “Rudhramadevi,” “Baahubali,” and “Bhaagamathie.” The actress is known for her terrific work in such films that have elements of supernatural and fantasy. Jayasurya plays the role of a powerful priest who can fight supernatural powers.

The trailer is mounted on a huge scale. We are transported to ancient times when ambitious kings would spare no efforts for conquests. Some of it also involved use of supernatural powers. Jayasurya is the character who has special powers in "Kathanar." Rojin Thomas has written the movie along with Rojin Thomas and R Ramanand. Neil D Cunha is the cinematographer.

It is filmed on a large scale as it is evident from the trailer. The story is set in a seaside territory and has the vibes of "Arabian Nights." The treatment is like a fairy-tale and should appeal to families. 

“Kathanar” has Jayasurya as Kadamattathu Kathanar while Anushka Shetty plays the role of Nila. Yesterday, she announced that the trailer would be out today. Jayasurya is on cloud nine after the success of his comedy sequel, “Aadu 3: One Last Ride.” It seems the makers have spent a lot on the special effects and visuals of “Kathanar.” The production house is Sree Gokulam Movies headed by Gokulam Gopalan. The co-producers are C Praveen and Baiju Gopalan. The movie will release in 15 languages including foreign ones like Chinese, French, Korean, Italian, Russian, German, and Indonesian.
