Indian fans of Japanese comics have long sought legitimate means to access content. With anime strengthening its foothold in the country, the demand for manga (comic books and graphic novels) is at an all-time high. According to Crunchyroll, 81% of Indian anime fans read digital manga at least monthly, while about more than half of the total viewership 56% engaging with it weekly. The global numbers for the same are 69% of anime viewers across 11 markets tuning into digital manga.

“The Apothecary Diaries,” “My Dress-Up Darling,” “Bocchi the Rock!,” “Bungo Stray Dogs,” “Delicious in Dungeon,” “Lycoris Recoil, Sasaki and Miyano,” “Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill” and “Konosuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!” are among the more than 250 titles being released digitally in India on the platform as of October 8. More popular publications are expected in the coming months. Subscribers to the Ultimate Fan membership can access unlimited, ad-free reading across devices with offline reading, full two-page spreads, personalized reading lists and curated recommendations. The ability to move seamlessly between manga and its anime adaptation has also been introduced.
The US Crunchyroll Manga roster currently holds over 450 titles since being launched in October 2025.
