The historic success of “Hanuman Ansh” warrants a case study. Made on the reported budget of ₹2 crore, the biographical devotional drama based on Neem Karoli Baba opened to ₹10 lakhs on its first day. After surviving three weeks at the box office, the film saw a huge turnaround in the fourth week, registering strong footfall and its biggest collection on Day 31, when it scored a massive ₹22.75 crore.
With the total domestic collection of ₹122.13 crore, “Hanuman Ansh” has emerged as the most profitable film in the history of Indian cinema. Now, it has achieved another impressive feat by claiming the throne of the highest fifth-weekend grosser of all time with ₹49.25 crore, beating Ranveer Singh’s “Dhurandhar” (33 crore) by a huge margin. In fact, biggies like “Pushpa 2,” “Dhurandhar 2,” “Baahubali 2,” “KGF 2,” “Pathaan” and “Jawan” haven’t even managed half of “Hanuman Ansh’s” fifth-weekend haul.
