From ‘Maa Behen,’ ‘Gullak’ Season 5 and ‘A Titan Story’ To ‘Cape Fear’ and ‘The Witness’: Everything Streaming This Week

All through June 1 to June 7 and across streaming platforms (especially on Netflix) this week, there’s a pointed slant toward retellings and/or dramatizations of true stories as well as relatable ones. While returning series make celebrated comebacks as do theatrical biggies on their second wind, it is also time for tentpoles to show up and be counted.
Here’s what’s hustling for your attention between June 1 and 7, 2026…

NETFLIX 
Lawmen Bass Reeves
A Western that originally aired on Paramount+. Chronicles the life of the legendary lawman who became the first Black Deputy U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi River, arresting over 3,000 outlaws.
WHY WATCH: The cast toplies Oyelowo, Donald Sutherland and Dennis Quaid.
Show streams June 1.

Michael Jackson: The Verdict 
The series revisits the 2005 criminal trial of Michael Jackson and features interviews with jurors, eyewitnesses, journalists who covered the trial among others. Also looks at its aftermath.
WHY WATCH: MJ is fresh in mind with the biopic going great guns. Could serve as another inbetweener before the sequel. 
Three-part documentary series premieres June 3.

David
An animated musical on the Jewish king who began as a shepherd, went on to fell a giant with just a slingshot. Whose devotion and faith built a kingdom.
WHY WATCH: Could be fun. A refresher course for kids interested in such stories or for those who love Biblical stories.
Film drops June 3.

Maa Behen
This dark comedy takes a chilling turn when a mother calls her daughters to tell them there’s a dead body in the house.
WHY WATCH: Suresh Triveni directs Madhuri Dixit Nene, Triptii Dimri, Ravi Kishan and Dharna Durga in this caper.
Film premieres June 4.

The Witness
In 1992, a 23-year-old British mum Rachel Nickell became the victim of an attack and her two-year-old son became the sole witness. A botched investigation and 16 years later, the truth comes out.
WHY WATCH: A crime drama story based on true events, it shows the toll on those left behind. One of the most debated cases of murder in Britain. 
Limited series begins June 4.

Night Shift For Cuties 
Two Indonesian K-Pop superfans slug it out for an opportunity to meet their favorite idol group in South Korea.
WHY WATCH: To see how far someone will go in the name of K-Pop. And to watch friends turn foes.
Begins streaming June 4.

 

Office Romance 
Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein (of “Ted Lasso” fame) star in this film about workaholics who try to fight off the attraction for each other only to spectacularly fail. All while fighting for the same promotions
WHY WATCH: JLo shines in romcoms. 
Streaming premiere on June 5.

Teach You A Lesson 
What happens when schools lose control of students? A group of ‘inspectors’ come along to set things right. Their methods, though? Not conventional at all!
WHY WATCH: Sharp, funny K-Drama.
Series premieres June 5.

Mexico 86
The story of Martin de la Torre, a Mexican bureaucrat who decided to bring the World Cup to Mexico by any means necessary.

WHY WATCH; Stars Diego Luna as de la Torre.
Film premieres June 5.

The Marked Woman 
A woman is found bound and gagged in a shipping container at the Port of Barcelona. With no recollection of what happened or who she is, Detective Anna Ripoll has to find out the truth in a hurry.
WHY WATCH: Based on the novel by Rosa Montero and Olivier Truc. Quick-paced suspense thriller..

Prime Video 
The Legend Of Vox Machina S4
On the run from the Cinder King and steering clear of The Chroma Conclave, a separated Fox Machina must reunite to take on an epic foe.
WHY WATCH: If you’re a fan of Critical Role and the first four seasons.
New season premieres June 3.

The Pyramid Scheme
Set in Haridwar, Goldy (Paramvir Singh Cheema) and Manoj Srivastava get lured into becoming pyramid marketeers. His get-rich scheme quickly devolves into a scam.

Made In India: A TItan Story

Not Suitable For Work
Five 20-somethings navigating work, life and finding balanced romance while living it up in Manhattan.
WHY WATCH: Created by Mindy Kaling. Reason enough.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge | Raw & Undekha
Touted to be an exclusive, uncut and uncensored version of the year's biggest Hindi film.
WHY WATCH: Features additional, unedited scenes, sharper dialogue and unfiltered action that were muted or cut during the theatrical release.
Premieres June 4.

APPLE TV  
Cape Fear

The 10-episode series sees Max Cady return exonerated. Flipping the script, the creators show his character as wrongly convicted and his former lawyer Anna and her husband being responsible for his incarceration. And how a looming dread follows them everywhere. 
WHY WATCH: Javier Bardem plays Max Cady very differently from the movies. Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson round up the stellar cast.
Series premieres June 5.

ZEE5
Patriot

Mammootty stars as Dr Daniel James, a DRW (Defence Research Wing) analyst finds out that a national security software is being misused and is forced to go on the run when he tries to expose those behind it.
WHY WATCH: All-star cast. Mammootty, Mohanlal, Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil, Revathi and more. And to find out why it didn't do well theatrically, despite the cast.

Brown
Set in Kolkata, follows Rita Brown (Karisma Kapoor), a once-celebrated cop dealing with demons from her past as she drowns in guilt and alcohol. Forced to return to investigate a murder alongside a junior officer, she finds herself possibly heading towards redemption.
WHY WATCH: Abhinay Deo is in the director’s chair. Karisma seems to be in fine form in the trailer.

SONY LIV   
Hastinapur Ke Veer

Mounted on a grand scale, this new series delves into the human stories of the five children who would grow up to become the storied warriors of the epic “Mahabharata.”
WHY WATCH: Toral Rasputra (who played the older Anandi in ‘Balika Vadhu’) stars as Kunti, the mother of the Pandavas. Manish Wadhwa stars as Bhishm Pitamaha.
The show premieres on June 2 and airs Monday to Saturday on Sony SAB as well.

Gullak S5
The Mishras try to keep up with changing times. Annu is now played by Anant Joshi, Aman is harbouring secrets while Shanti deals with her newfound popularity.
WHY WATCH: The relatability of it all. Feels like home.
Season premiere on June 5.
