‘Dridam’ Trailer: Shane Nigam, Martin Joseph’s Cop Thriller is all About Duty, Truth and Power Games
By Gayathri Krishna,
Another Malayalam thriller, “Dridam," is set to hit the big screen soon, with its makers dropping the film’s trailer today. The movie, which stars Shane Nigam in the lead role, is a tense investigation thriller revolving around a young cop. The trailer opens with Shane's character, SI Vijay Radhakrishnan, feeling relieved as he takes his very first charge in a new station in Kuzhinilam, a small town known for being free of criminal elements. The peace is shortlived though. Vijay quickly faces problems due to a murder case that raises a number of challenges for him and his team.
In the meantime, Vijay is constantly criticised by his higher colleagues for being "incompetent", which drives him to keep looking for an explanation for the killings. The trailer also shows glimpses of a financial scandal that is likely to be the main reason behind the killings, leaving many lives broken and resentful.

Shane, who played a police officer in the Malayalam films "Corona Papers" and "Vela", seems to have given a strong and compelling portrayal in "Dridam." All eyes are on this upcoming thriller to see if it can eventually become a box office success. Shane's last two films, "Haal" and "Balti", performed mediocrely in theatres.
The intriguing aspect of this film is that director Jeethu Joseph, who is renowned for his Malayalam thrillers like "Drishyam" and "Memories", is backing it. “Dridam” marks the directorial debut of Martin Joseph, who has previously worked alongside Jeethu Joseph. Jomon John and Linto Devasia wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues for the movie, which also has Shobi Thilakan, Kottayam Ramesh, Sanya, Dinesh Prabhakar and Krishna Prabha Nair in major parts.
