‘Dharman’: Raashii Khanna’s Instagram Post Confirms Ram Pothineni’s Casting In Rajinikanth’s Film

Raashii Khanna has seemingly confirmed Ram Pothineni’s casting in “Dharman”, the upcoming Rajinikanth starrer directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. Khanna shared a series of behind-the-scenes pictures from the film’s ongoing Mysuru schedule on Tuesday, September 29, including a photograph of herself with Rajinikanth and Pothineni, effectively putting an end to the speculation around the Telugu actor’s involvement.

In her Instagram post, Khanna wrote about her time in Mysuru, mentioning early morning workouts with “Rajini sir and Ram”, along with temple visits, UNO games and Mysore dosa. The post also offers glimpses of Khanna with folk performers and other moments from the schedule. The film is currently shooting its fourth schedule in Mysuru, following earlier schedules in Chennai and Hyderabad.

Pothineni’s casting had been the subject of reports for several weeks, with speculation ranging from him playing Khanna’s love interest to taking on the antagonist opposite Rajinikanth. The makers, however, had not confirmed his inclusion or revealed his character. Khanna’s post is therefore the first clear indication from someone associated with the production that Pothineni is part of the film. His role in “Dharman” remains under wraps.

“Dharman” is produced by Kamal Haasan under Raaj Kamal Films International, alongside R Mahendran of Turmeric Media. The cast also includes Simran and Yogi Babu, with Rajinikanth playing a doctor described in the film’s first-look material as the “Deadly Doctor”. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music, while Niketh Bommi, Pradeep E Ragav and Anbariv handle cinematography, editing and action choreography respectively.

The film went on floors in June and has progressed through multiple schedules since then. Marimuthu recently said the shoot is expected to be completed in October. The makers have yet to announce a release date for “Dharman”.
