‘Dhamaal 4’ Box Office: Ajay Devgn’s Film Holds Strong Despite ‘The Odyssey’’s Arrival
Ajay Devgn-starrer “Dhamaal 4” has emerged as the fourth clean hit Hindi film of the year, after “Dhurandhar 2,” “Border 2” and “Bhooth Bangla.” Despite competition from Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” it remained strong on its second Friday, showing a minimal drop of just 10% from Thursday.
Since the Hollywood epic didn’t make much of a mark in Hindi-speaking circuits, “Dhamaal 4” benefited in these markets. With a strong hold on its second Friday, the adventure comedy confirms its status as a certified hit at the box office.
While the film has no advantage from any national holidays, it will enjoy a clean run until the arrival of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” which will be released on July 30. By then, however, “Dhamaal 4” would have completed the bulk of its box office run and will likely settle into lower daily collections. In eight days, the film stands with a grand total of ₹100 crore and marks the fifth film to achieve this feat after “Border 2,” “Dhurandhar 2,” “Bhooth Bangla” and “Welcome To The Jungle”.

It also marks Ajay’s 16th film to hit a century at the ticket windows after “Singham,” “Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior,” “Drishyam 2,” “Golmaal Again,” “Singham Again,” “Singham Returns,” “Total Dhamaal,” “Golmaal 3,” “Raid 2,” “Bol Bachchan,” “Son of Sardaar,” “Shaitaan,” “Raid,” “De De Pyaar De” and “Shivaay.”
While the film will cross the business of “Welcome To The Jungle” (₹130 crore), it would be a tough chance for it to surpass Bhooth Bangla (₹162 crore) in its theatrical run. As the comic-caper emerges as a big success, the makers teased “Dhamaal 5” in the climax, guaranteeing the fifth installment in the franchise.
