Bobby Deol’s ‘Aashram’ Season 4 Set to Roll Mid-August (EXCLUSIVE)

The doors of Baba Nirala’s empire are opening once again. Variety India has learned that “Ek Badnaam... Aashram” Season 4 is set to begin filming mid-August 2026. It reunites director Prakash Jha with the principal cast, including Bobby Deol, Aaditi Pohankar and Chandan Roy Sanyal, for the next chapter of the hit crime drama. The story follows the dramatic events of the previous installment.

While production is moving ahead, the long-term future of the series remains open, it is currently unclear whether Baba Nirala’s story will conclude with this chapter or continue beyond it.

Created and directed by Prakash Jha, “Ek Badnaam... Aashram” premiered in 2020 and quickly established itself as one of India’s biggest strexaming successes. Set in the world of a powerful self-styled godman whose spiritual empire masks a network of corruption, political influence and exploitation, the series became one of the defining titles of India’s early streaming boom.

Its popularity led to multiple installments, making it one of the country’s longest-running original streaming dramas. The series also marked a significant turning point in Bobby Deol’s career. His portrayal of Baba Nirala introduced audiences to a darker and more morally complex screen persona, redefining his image and paving the way for a string of high-profile projects across film and streaming platforms. The character remains one of the most acclaimed performances of his career.

The previous installment, “Ek Badnaam... Aashram” Season 3 Part 2, left several major conflicts unresolved, setting up another chapter in the battle surrounding Baba Nirala’s empire. Alongside Deol, Aaditi Pohankar has remained central to the story as Pammi, while Chandan Roy Sanyal’s Bhopa Swami has evolved into one of the show’s most unpredictable characters. The ensemble cast has also featured Darshan Kumaar, Anupria Goenka, Vikram Kochhar, Tridha Choudhury, Adhyayan Suman and Rajeev Siddhartha.

With cameras preparing to roll in mid August, Prakash Jha and his team are ready to return to one of Indian streaming's most recognizable worlds. Whether Season 4 ultimately brings the curtain down on Baba Nirala's journey, however, remains a question that has yet to be answered.
