‘Bharathanatyam 2: Mohiniyattam’ Trailer: Chaos Ensues As Sashidharan And His Family Find Themselves In A Deadly Situation
The trailer for the upcoming Malayalam film, "Bharathanatyam 2 Mohiniyattam," was revealed today ahead of its theatrical release on April 10. With Sashidharan and his family at its core, the trailer for the sequel to the hit 2024 comedy suggests a dark comedy with suspenseful elements.
The protagonist of Bharathanatyam is Sashidharan, who grants his father's dying wish to see his second wife and their son. He and his family soon try to uphold their reputation in their small community, coming up with amusing explanations for the conflicts that arise with all of them staying in the same house. The "Mohiniyattam" trailer introduces new, eccentric personalities into their lives after their family accidentally murders someone at home on a mysterious night. The amusing mayhem that follows as they attempt to hide it is shown in glimpses in the trailer.
The return of Sashidharan and his quirky family, with the sequel examining their life following the passing of their father, Bharathan Nair, is the primary commonality between the two films. Vinay Forrt, Baby Jean, Jagadish, and Suraj Venjaramoodu join this comedy-thriller, which promises a number of intriguing moments. The trailer also makes allusions to Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph’s Drishyam film franchise, which revolves on the protagonist's unintentional killing of a young man and his attempts to both protect his family and conceal the crime.
The screenplay was written by Krishnadas Murali, the film's director. Saiju Kurup, Sreeja Ravi, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Kalaranjini, Swathi Das Prabhu, Sruthy Suresh, Jinil Rex and Jivin Rex reprise their roles in Mohiniyattam. Bharathanatyam, which can be streamed on YouTube, Manorama Max, and Amazon Prime Video, had a mediocre theatrical run but received a lot of appreciation for its humorous story and performances after its OTT premiere. Along with some thrilling moments, the sequel is anticipated to have the same impression on viewers across languages.
