Aafiya Sayed made her debut in Hindi cinema with “Prem Keetanu,” opposite Veer Pahariya. The actress is now venturing into the Telugu film industry, where she shares screen space with "Robinhood" actor Nithiin in "Alias Rukmini." The film is produced by Nani under his production house Unanimous Productions.

Speaking to Variety India, Aafiya shares her excitement of making her debut in Telugu. She opens up about filmmaker Murali Kanth Devasoth, who previously made his directorial debut with “Dhandoraa” (2025). She also quips about working with Nithiin, who is known for films like “Robinhood,” “Thammudu,” “Extra Ordinary Man” and more. Sayed reflects, "It feels surreal to be making my Telugu debut with “Alias Rukmini.” Murali sir is an incredible visionary. The team at Unanimous Productions (helmed by Nani) are really committed to making something incredibly special. Working alongside Nithiin, Nani sir as a producer, is all really a huge privilege. We are making this film with a lot of heart and can’t wait to share it with the world."

A teaser, introducing her as Rukmini, was released some time back. It shows her as a strict teacher at a school, juggling between students’ mischief while trying to maintain discipline. The makers shared the teaser with the caption, “Love of Krishna’s life. Unfiltered, unapologetic and utterly original..!! That is who our 'Rukmini' is. [sic]"

Produced by Nani and Deepthi Ganta and directed by Murali Kanth Devasoth, the film is said to be in the space of a romantic drama. It is scheduled to release on December 4.
