A heist series starring Anthony Mackie as an FBI agent hot on the chase of Jamie Dornan’s criminal mastermind and directed by Kari Skogland of Marvel’s “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier”? It sounds like a series the audience will be seated for. Apple TV has a knack for bringing the biggest names from Hollywood to deliver some pretty good TV, and that’s what the first-look images and teaser of its upcoming heist series, ‘12 12 12’, seem to promise.
What is ‘12 12 12’ about?
Billed as a thrilling original heist drama, the eight-episode series is headlined by Mackie and Dornan, who also serve as executive producers. The photos dropped by Apple TV reveal Mackie’s “disgraced” FBI agent facing off against Dornan’s “American career criminal” in what the official logline describes as a “zero-sum game of cat and mouse across Europe” after an almost impenetrable underground bank vault in Zurich gets raided.
The date announcement teaser opens with Anthony Mackie talking about a “high-asset robbery” that took 12 months of planning and 12 hours of execution. It is interspersed with glimpses of Jamie Dornan’s professional thief in action. The teaser ends with Mackie dropping an important statistic: A thief not caught within 12 days of the heist is not caught at all. Each episode of ‘12 12 12’ follows the characters across three timelines of the heist—the planning, execution and aftermath—which explains the series’ peculiar title.
The cast of ‘12 12 12’
The series is created and executive produced by Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble, with Skogland directing multiple episodes and serving as an executive producer. Considering her work on “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” which also starred Anthony Mackie, was appreciated, it’ll be interesting to see what their team-up delivers a second time.
Joining Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan on the series is an ensemble cast that includes Jack Kesy (“Hellboy: The Crooked Man”), Agathe Rousselle (“Titane”), Sallie Harmsen (“Blade Runner 2049”), José Garcia (“Now You See Me”) and Kali Reis (“True Detective”), among others. The first-look images tease a glimpse at their characters without revealing too much.
When does ‘12 12 12’ release on Apple TV?
The eight-episode series will have a global two-episode premiere on Friday, November 13, 2026, followed by one episode every Friday through December 25, 2026.
