‘Vaazha 2’ Gives ‘Aadu 3’ a Run For Its Money in Race to Become Top Malayalam Grosser

After a solid opening, “Vaazha 2” continues its strong run at the box office. Despite having no popular faces, the coming-of-age action dramedy witnessed solid growth over the weekend. In fact, the Monday (yesterday) collections are better than its opening day, which clearly shows audience acceptance.

“Vaazha 2” currently stands with a total collection of ₹34.54 crore and is enjoying a free run at the box office. On the other hand, Jayasurya’s “Aadu 3,” which is on the verge of ending its theatrical run, has collected just over ₹50 crore at the ticket windows.

With the current dominance of “Vaazha 2,” the film has a chance to overtake “Aadu 3” and emerge as the highest Malayalam grosser of 2026. However, with the arrival of Tovino Thomas and Kayadu Lohar-starrer “Pallichattambi” this Friday, the film will face a screen crunch, thus impacting its overall box-office collection.

“Vaazha 2” stars Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak in title roles, alongside Vijay Babu, Aju Varghese, Bijukuttan, Alphonse Puthren and Sudheesh. The film marks the directorial debut of Savin SA and is written by Vipin Das.

The film’s album comprises 10 songs and is composed by nine composers —Malayali Monkeys, Rajat Prakash, Parvatish Pradeep, Rzee, Muthu, Arcado, Jazir Muhammed, Ashwin Aryan and Electronic Kili.
