Uorfi Javed on Rhea Chakraborty: ‘That lady’s got ba**s’ (EXCLUSIVE)
Love her or hate her, but Uorfi Javed has always been hard to ignore. Through her strong sense of style, creativity and a devil-may-care attitude when dealing with brickbats, she’s built a brand for herself. But everyone has a muse, an idol, an inspiration whose standards they can aspire to. And while Uorfi denies having a role model, she does have a few women on her list whom she admires, and Variety India’s digital cover star for June, Rhea Chakraborty, is one of them.
In an exclusive chat with Variety India, Uorfi Javed spoke about how Rhea Chakraborty’s phoenix arc of rebuilding her image from scratch after a jail stint truly surprised her.

“Honestly, if I had been there, I would have thought, 'Everything is over now'. But the way she [Rhea] got out of it? She's created such a good brand. She's created a name for herself again. At that time, if you had asked me, I would have thought, 'It's impossible. Her career is dead.' But she did it, man. That lady's got ba**s.”
And indeed, Rhea has had quite the second inning with her podcast and her streetwear label, Chapter 2. And though she returns to acting in Netflix’s upcoming series, “Family Business” alongside Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma, Rhea has proclaimed that she now considers herself “an entrepreneur or a founder first and everything else second”.
Another actor that Uorfi mentioned was Samantha Ruth Prabhu, whose warmth is something she praises.
"I know Samantha's story. She's very inspiring and a very nice human being. When you meet her, she's so warm. She'll give you that tight hug, so I really like her.”

Uorfi even spoke about how the Kardashians, who are role models for many creators like her, broke the mould of what it means to be a celebrity.
“No one was my role model. I didn't know anyone who was doing this. I was just creating my own name, but I do feel like they [The Kardashians] have done something nearly impossible to do. They were not conventional actors or people from the industry, but they still created such a big name for themselves. So, I really do admire that,” she concludes.
