Yash's mega-budget cinematic spectacle has crashed on its second day at the box office. After a record-breaking opening of ₹101.10 crore, the period action drama saw a massive drop of over 64% on Day 2, raking in just ₹37.65 crore with an average occupancy of 26.6%.
The negative word-of-mouth has impacted the footfalls and the box office to such an extent that the movie's drop can be recorded as the biggest second-day dip in Indian history.

Films like "Thugs Of Hindostan" and "Laal Singh Chaddha" are among examples of crashing down at the second day. While the former dipped from ₹52.25 crore to ₹29.25 crore, the latter went down to ₹7.26 crore from its ₹11.70 crore opening.
With this kind of drop, the box office fate of "Toxic" looks gloomy. With Saturday and Sunday under its belt, it will be interesting to see whether the film manages to recover lost ground or emerges as a complete rejection from the audience.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas of "Moothon" fame, “Toxic” also features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi and Akshay Oberoi. While Rajeev Ravi is the cinematographer, the editing is done by Ujwal Kulkarni. It is produced by Yash and Venkat K. Narayan under their banner Monster Mind Creations and KVN Productions. Shot in Kannada and English, it has hit screens in the dubbed version of Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
