‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Final Trailer Review: New Faces, New Fashion and Miranda Caught in a Scandal
The final trailer for "The Devil Wears Prada 2" is out, and a bunch of new faces have been spotted on the Runway. The trailer offers a first proper glimpse at the new cast members joining Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci: Simone Ashley (the new Emily), Justin Theroux (Emily’s husband, Benji), Kenneth Branagh (Miranda’s new husband, Stuart), Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B.J. Novak and Conrad Ricamora. Tracie Thoms returns as Andy’s bestie, Lily.
The trailer begins with Anne Hathaway’s Andy Sachs talking to Simone Ashley’s Amari, who is shocked to find out that Andy gave away all the Chanel outfits she received when she went to Paris with Miranda. Ashley’s Amari seems like the perfect blend of Andy and Emily; she understands fashion and is sharp and efficient, which is why she’s seen accompanying Miranda in multiple shots, including the Runway editor-in-chief's Paris trip.

It’s interesting to see that Andy seems to have found the sweet spot in her personal style after her Runway stint; she looks chic and intentional even in her casual looks. That being said, the overall fashion seen in the trailers so far doesn’t quite match up to that of the first film. We'll need a better look at The Closet to say more.
This trailer also reveals a little more about the scandal Miranda has gotten herself into. Andy is seen watching memes about Runway’s stocks tanking and Miranda as a McDonald’s employee serving lies. Another scene shows a distraught Miranda being held by her husband, Stuart (Branagh). No wonder Nigel (Tucci) is trying to put the band back together.
Except, there’s something about Miranda. While her incisive jabs are intact, she isn’t the same, stern Miranda we remember from the first film. "The Devil Wears Prada 2's" premise centres on Runway needing help, as print magazines are dying and the digital world is taking over. But could it also have to do with Miranda losing her touch? Tibor Feldman, who played Elias-Clarke Chairman Irv Ravitz in the first film, reprises his role in the sequel, and he is joined by B.J. Novak, who plays Jay Ravitz. Could it be a case of the new guard trying to steer the magazine in a different direction?
The trailer is set to a new, foot-tapping original song from Doechii and Lady Gaga, aptly titled “Runway." The latter is reportedly set to appear in the film as well, though her look has not yet been revealed. Directed by David Frankel, written by Aline Brosh McKenna, produced by Wendy Finerman and executive produced by Michael Bederman, Karen Rosenfelt and Aline Brosh McKenna, “The Devil Wears Prada 2” will release in theaters on May 1, 2026.
