Sanya Malhotra and Aditya Rawal to Headline Romantic Thriller (EXCLUSIVE)
Sanya Malhotra and Aditya Rawal are teaming up on a new romantic thriller. Variety India has exclusively learned that the film tentatively titled “Sundar Poonam” will be directed by Pulkit, who's known for helming movies like “Bhakshak” and “Maalik”.
Plot details are kept under wraps, but it's said to be inspired by true events, with both Sanya and Aditya playing markedly different characters from what they've played before. The film goes on floors in mid-April and will be shot on a large scale across Kashmir, Rajasthan, Delhi and Mumbai. When contacted for confirmation, the director and producer were unavailable for comment. The film is being produced by Vikram Malhotra's Abundantia Entertainment.
The film will mark Aditya Rawal's third consecutive collaboration with Malhotra, following his power-packed performances in “Daldal” and “Subedaar.” Sources say he plays a wild character in this film, and he has already started preparing for it. For Sanya, this will mark her second project with the banner after Shakuntala Devi (2020) starring Vidya Balan in the lead. Looking ahead, she has David Dhawan’s “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai” and Anurag Kashyap’s “Bandar” set for release in theatres this year.
