Robert Pattinson on ‘The Batman: Part 2’ Production Halt: ‘We Are Pausing for a Little Bit’

Robert Pattinson has shared an update on the production of “The Batman: Part 2,” suggesting that the upcoming film will take a brief breather before the team shares updates on the next steps. “We are pausing for a little bit and then we are going to figure it all out,” the actor said, addressing the film’s production status.

The sequel to Matt Reeves’ 2022 film “The Batman” will see Pattinson return as Bruce Wayne, also known as the Caped Crusader. While the actor’s latest comments indicate a temporary pause, further details about the production timeline and the team’s next steps remain unclear.

This development comes after Matt Reeves stepped down from production for some time. As per a statement from DC Studios, “Production on “The Batman Part II” has been temporarily paused while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter. Matt has the full support of DC Studios and we look forward to continuing the journey soon.”

The cast has Robert Pattinson, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell returning respectively as Batman, Alfred and Penguin. The newer additions to the cast include Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry, Jayme Lawson, Charles Dance, Gil Perez-Abraham and Sebastian Koch.

The filming was ongoing in London previously. The movie was slated to release on February 18, 2028. The studio has not disclosed how long the recent pause will last, and there has been no announcement of another release-date change.

Audiences were first introduced to Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” in 2022, which offered a distinctly darker take on the comic book character than previous films.
