Ritesh Shah’s ‘Dhaai Chaal’ Gets A Second Season, Ankit Siwach Wraps Up Shoot (EXCLUSIVE)
Actor Ankit Siwach who was seen in the movie, “120 Bahadur,” has been signed on for Ritesh Shah’s gritty political drama, “Dhaai Chaal.” The interesting part is that the first season of the drama is yet to be released. As per sources, the streaming platform JioHotstar has already commissioned a second season and the shoot for the same will also wrap up soon. Ankit Siwach is also a part of the second season.
Viewers know him from his TV shows like “Rishton Ka Chakravyuh,” “Manmohini,” “Ishqbaaaz,” “Beyhadh 2,” to name a few. Talking to Variety India, Ankit Siwach said, “The show gives me a chance to play a multilayered grey character that will surely turn out to be a surprise package for the audience.” “Dhaai Chaal,” is a gritty political thriller where Ankit’s character is ambitious and ruthless at the same time.

He adds, “I have recently played characters that go by the book, that serve a purpose, but this one writes the book, he makes or breaks his own rules. This one dives deep into the many shades of our political world.” Satish Nair is the director of “Dhaai Chaal” season two. Ritesh Shah is one of the best-known dialogue and screenwriters of the Hindi film industry. He has worked for movies like “Pink,” “Kahaani,” “Raid,” “Maidaan,” “Sardar Udham,” and “The Diplomat.”
“Dhaai Chaal” has been shot extensively in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi. In an earlier interview, Siwach told us how “Dhaai Chaal” is his second web series after “The Legacy of the Raisingghs: Kull.” After playing some upright characters on Indian TV, he enjoyed the idea of exploring a grey role for Ritesh Shah’s series.
