Ranveer Singh vs Excel Entertainment Locked In a 40-Crore Deadlock (EXCLUSIVE)
Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment are currently locked in a major dispute following the actor’s exit from “Don 3,” with the fallout now escalating into a financial standoff worth ₹40 crore, sources tell Variety India.
According to multiple industry sources, the disagreement stems from Excel’s claim that Singh’s departure has resulted in significant financial losses, including sunk development costs and delays tied to scheduling, planning, and associated commitments. Variety India also has access to a letter where the production house has let go of its several departments asking the HODs to start looking out for outside work.
The production banner, sources say, believes the actor should compensate the company for the damages incurred. Singh, however, is said to be pushing back strongly, maintaining that he is not liable to pay any amount. A source on anonymity tells Variety India, “Ranveer claims he left the project because he wasn’t happy with the script. He kept asking for changes to be made and didn’t like what the final draft read. Excel, on the other hand, claims that they went ahead with pre-production only after Singh gave his go ahead.”
