‘Nakhrewaalii’ to Release on October 30, Ansh Duggal and Pragati Srivastava Lead ‘Womantic Comedy’
By Sakshi Navare,
“Nakhrewaalii”, starring Ansh Duggal and Pragati Srivastava, is set to release in theatres on October 30, 2026. Directed by Rahul Shanklya and written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, the film is being pitched as a ‘womantic comedy’, with its premise pointing towards a reversal of conventional gender roles in romantic relationships.
The film’s poster offers the first hint of that approach through the line, “Kabhi Kabhi Pyaar Mein Majnu Ko Bhi Laila Banna Padta Hai.” Drawing on the familiar figures of Majnu and Laila, the tagline suggests a shift in who is expected to pursue, compromise or take the lead in a relationship.
The makers have not yet revealed the full plot, but the positioning places changing romantic expectations at the centre of the film’s identity.

“Nakhrewaalii” also aims to bring women’s safety and entrenched social norms into its narrative, using the romantic comedy format to approach subjects that extend beyond courtship. How these concerns intersect with the film’s humour and relationship dynamics will become clearer with the trailer, which is expected to offer a more detailed look at its story.
The film is produced by Jio Studios and Colour Yellow, the banner led by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma. With Duggal and Srivastava leading the cast, “Nakhrewaalii” will arrive in cinemas on October 30.
