‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’ Edges Out ‘Anupamaa’ as T20 World Cup Matches Cause Dip In Numbers of All TV Shows

It is the day of the week when TV producers get a report card of how their shows are faring with the Indian audience. Ekta Kapoor’s “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2” has come up trumps in a week dominated by action from the cricket field. We know that TV shows always find a tough opponent in cricket matches and it was no different this time round. The T20 World Cup is on and Indians are glued on to it. Rupali Ganguly’s “Anupamaa” was in the second spot. Zee TV’s shows “Ganga Maa Ki Betiyan,” and “Tumm Se Tumm Tak” were also in second place. Namik Paul, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary’s “Naagin 7” dipped further to 1.6 in the ratings.

Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay along with Barkha Bisht have been in top form in ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2.’ The drama is about how Tulsi (Smriti Irani) decides to get back the ancestral property. Even “Anupamaa” is packed with a lot of drama. These two shows have been going neck-to-neck when it comes to TRPs. “Tumm Se Tumm Tak” that stars Sharad Kelkar and Niharika Chouksey is also faring really well in the TRP charts.

The upcoming IPL season is also a testing time for all TV channels and producers. All serials see a huge dip and many new shows even go off air. The past few months have been rather good for TV shows, including the new launches. Now, they have entered the crucial period with rumors of some producers getting notices from channels as well.
