Harrdy Sandhu and Simrat Kaur Randhawa Team Up for a Punjabi Romantic Film (EXCLUSIVE)
Following his stint in Hindi films, singer and actor Harrdy Sandhu is set to make his long-awaited return to Punjabi movies. Variety India has exclusively learned that Sandhu will headline a Punjabi-language romantic drama opposite Simrat Kaur Randhawa, who has previously featured in films like ‘Gadar 2”,“Vanvaas” and “The Bengal Files.”

The yet-untitled film will mark Sandhu's first Punjabi film in nine years. He made his acting debut with “Yaaran Da katchup” (2014) and followed it with “Mahi NRI” (2017) before shifting his focus to Hindi cinema. He earned widespread acclaim for his portrayal of legendary cricketer Madan Lal in the Ranveer Singh-starrer “'83” (2021), and was last seen alongside Parineeti Chopra in Ribhu Dasgupta’s spy action thriller, “Code Name: Tiranga” (2022). The film will also mark Simrat’s return to Punjabi films after her recent work in Hindi movies.
Produced by Siddhant Pilania, this Punjabi film will see Sandhu's return to the romance genre after a series of intense high-octane drama and sports biopics. The fresh on-screen pairing of Sandhu and Simrat is expected to bring in a freshness to the film and an exciting cinematic flavor for the audience and fans to savor.
The project is currently in pre-production and will go on floors in the first half of 2026.
