‘Golmaal 5’ Officially Announced With Akshay Kumar Joining the Ensemble Cast Led by Ajay Devgn
By Sakshi Navare
Rohit Shetty has officially announced "Golmaal 5," the fifth installment of his most popular comedy film franchise, "Golmaal". Along with the announcement, the director has also confirmed the addition of Akshay Kumar to the cast — marking a major casting coup for the franchise. Variety India had exclusively reported about this collaboration last month.
On the occasion of his birthday today, Shetty announced the film through an on-set promotional video on his Instagram video. Reflecting on the franchise’s legacy, he wrote, “20 years ago, the first Golmaal was released, a film that changed my life. The credit goes to you, my audience. Over the past 20 years, we have entertained you, and yes, sometimes disappointed you, but we have always been honest in our work. So now, once again, my fabulous team and I are set on a journey to entertain you as we start filming G5. You have always loved and supported me. All we need is your blessings. See you at the movies."

"Golmaal 5" promises to be the most entertaining chapter in the Golmaal franchise. Ajay Devgn returns with his chaotic, laughter-filled ensemble cast, including Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade. Sharman Joshi, who starred in the first part but missed the sequels, has rejoined the ensemble, adding a nostalgic element for longtime fans.
Shooting of the film has already commenced in Mumbai, and it’s expected to release in theatres early next year.
