From ‘Maa Ka Sum’ to ‘Your Friends And Neighbors’, Here’s What to Not Miss on Streaming this Week

Slightly slim pickings this week (March 30-April 5) across the streaming board, but a busy week for Netflix nevertheless. Modern families bring on the chaos this week as a new Marathi show heads to ZEE5 and a new Hindi one comes to Prime Video, while an English one returns to Apple TV+. There’s something for everyone looking to binge their way through the week, though. Aamir Khan’s top-grossing sports underdog movie heads to streaming with a drop on SonyLIV to close out the week.

Here’s the list to last you the week…

Hey Kay Navin? (ZEE5)

On the face of it, Priya Bapat and Umesh Kamat playing a married couple for screen is something they could be doing without even trying to… well… act. They’ve been married 15 years IRL (in real life) and as modern marriages go, keeping the chemistry from fading out, while following one’s dreams and ambitions, is a challenge in itself. And that’s the struggle their characters face in HKN. Let’s not forget that Bapat and Kamat went down this road before (for the immensely popular mini series ‘Aani Kay Hava’, also directed by series director Varun Narvekar) but going by the trailer, the chemistry between the lead pair feels just as authentic and fresh as it did all those years ago. Series premieres March 31.

The Bad Guys: Breaking In S2 (Netflix)

Before they were “The Bad Guys” on film, they were trying to be just that in the books by Aaron Blabey close to a decade ago. And the fact that two films (one in 2022 and one in 2025) exist apart from a successful Season 1, should be enough reason to watch this one, but you’re more interested in how the big bads fare now that Mr Wolf and the gang got the bad rep they always wanted. Will their evil streak sustain or not? S2 premieres April 2 on Netflix.

XO, Kitty S3 (Netflix)

Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) returns to screens for the final season. After Seoul-searching last season, she’s now in senior year at KISS. And tired of her “mixed signals,” the increasingly popular Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) decides it’s time to cut his losses. Helping Kitty along her journey of self-discovery this season is her screen sister Lara Jean (Lana Condor). Looks like fun for fans of the show. New season up Apr. 2.

Your Friends And Neighbours S2 (Apple TV+)

Jon Hamm returns as Coop, fired hedge-fund manager turned friendly neighbourhood… thief. This season, life is complicated, but he’s making it work in spite of a divorce, an on-off romance and his thieving habits. But he might just taste a bit of competition from his billionaire-next-door neighbour at Westmont Village, Owen Ashe (James Marsden). Amanda Peet and Olivia Munn return to reprise roles. Nothing like a new face to stir things up, one would think. Fans would do best to keep calendars booked for Apr. 3.

Maamla Legal Hai S2 (Netflix)

A fresh-behind-the-ears lawyer (well, not anymore, one reckons) Ananya Shroff (Naila Grewal) navigating the chaotic courtrooms and its periphery in Patparganj made for intelligent slapstick viewing in S1 as she took on the madness, case by case. While holding her own against bigger fish like Ravi Kishan’s V.D. Tyagi and Nidhi Bisht’s Sujata Negi, mind you. This time around, she’s going to battle Nayana Arora (Kusha Kapila). When the new season rolls around on April 3, expect things to get sillier, louder, more outrageous.

Bloodhounds S2 (Netflix)

The follow-up to 2023’s boxing-heavy revenge drama from Korea, returns three years after the first season. Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi are back as Gun-woo and Woo-jin. S1 saw them take down loan sharks while this one has them go up against foes in an underground boxing league. Gun Woo takes centre stage this season as Woo-jin coaches him, which means Baek-jeong (Jung Ji-hoon) becomes the object of their attention. Action fans might want to lock April 3 down for a binge-watch.

Sitaare Zameen Par (Sony LIV)

There’s nothing quite as motivating as a full-of-himself scowling but talented has-been get his comeuppance by being compelled to coach a team of differently abled individuals who he initially doesn’t even consider as equals. And who prove him wrong. And give him a lesson in humility along the way. In case you missed it when it first went pay-per-view on YouTube and later theatres, here’s another chance to catch the Aamir Khan-led film. Out April 3.

Maa Ka Sum (Prime Video India)

Agastya, 19 (played by Mihir Ahuja) believes he can math his way through life and even help him find the perfect match for his mother, Vanita (Mona Singh). And as the boy sets out to work on ‘Project Mom’ with the motto - Maths ho yaa pyaar, ek hi equation - and a teacher Ira (Angira Dhar) driving him - he finds that life and love do not adhere to formulae or equations or patterns. Eager to see how this one shapes up. Premieres April 3.
