ENHYPEN Vocalist Heeseung Leaves The K-Pop Group; Pens Emotional Letter, ‘After Thinking Deeply For A Long Time’
It is final that Heeseung (real name: Lee Heeseung) has left the K-pop boy band, ENHYPEN. The company confirmed the news with an official statement and later Heeseung too posted about it on Weverse. He will be continuing under the label, BELIFT LAB as a solo artist. ENHYPEN will continue to promote and work as a six-member group. The statement from BELIFT LAB read: We would like to express our gratitude toward ENGENE for their unwavering support for ENHYPEN and provide information on ENHYPEN’s future activities. BELIFT LAB has given much thought and consideration into ENHYPEN’s future direction and goals. Through in-depth discussions with each of the members about the future they envision and the direction of the team, it became clear that HEESEUNG has his own distinct musical vision and we have decided to respect it. This was reported in Koreaboo.
The agency also said that this has come at a short notice but the parties deliberated on it for a long time. They asked fans to show their understanding and support towards ENHYPEN and Heeseung. It seems Heeseung will be preparing a solo album for fans.
Heeseung said he wanted to speak directly to the fanbase known as ENGENE. In the letter posted on Weverse he wrote, “The past six years have been filled with moments that are so overwhelming and precious that they’re hard to fully put into words. Thanks to the members with whom I shared countless emotions, and to ENGENE who always filled the empty spaces, I was able to take step after step toward a dream that once felt impossible to reach.”
He said being with ENHYPEN was a privilege and he would support his team members more than anyone else. The vocalist who is also a music producer and songwriter stated that he spent a long time thinking about his work and how to present the same. The letter further read, “After thinking deeply for a long time, I made a big decision to follow the direction suggested by the company so that I can approach ENGENE with a better side of myself.”
He said he has many personal projects he wanted to show to the fans but did not wish to prioritize his personal ambitions over the group. Heesung assured fans that he would meet them soon with new projects. He apologized for the worry and concern felt by fans.
Heeseung was selected as a member of ENHYPEN after he earned the fifth place in the final episode of I-LAND. He was under Big Hit Entertainment as a trainee for three years. ENHYPEN has other members like Jake, Sunghoon, Jungwon, Sunoo, Jay, Jake and Ni-ki.
