Diljit Dosanjh-Imitiaz Ali’s ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ To Lock Horns With Varun Dhawan-Mrunal Thakur’s ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’
Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has officially announced his next directorial venture, “Main Vaapas Aaunga,” unveiling the film’s first look posters and teaser today. The film, starring Diljit Dosanjh, is set to arrive in theatres on June 12, 2026. With the announcement, the film is now scheduled to clash at the box office with Varun Dhawan’s upcoming entertainer “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai,” directed by his father David Dhawan.
Interestingly, the Varun Dhawan starrer was originally slated for an April release before being moved to June 5, 2026. However, after the makers of “Toxic” shifted their release to June 4, 2026, the David Dhawan directorial was pushed back by another week to June 12 to avoid a clash with the Yash starrer directed by Geetu Mohandas. The reshuffle has now resulted in “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai” directly competing with “Main Vaapas Aaunga.”

With multiple big ticket projects arriving in close succession, it remains to be seen how audiences respond to the crowded release calendar.
