‘Dhurandhar 2’ Beats First Day Collections Of ‘Dhurandhar’ in Advance Sales for Paid Previews

Ranveer Singh’s “Dhurandhar 2,” aka “Dhurandhar: The Revenge,” is arriving in the cinema halls today from 4: 45 pm onwards. The film has already shattered several records in advance sales across the country and emerged as the biggest Indian preview grosser at the domestic and North American markets.

While the spy-actioner is turning out to be a game-changer for Hindi films at the box office, with the collections of ₹30.84 crore from the preview shows through advance sales, it has beaten the opening day of “Dhurandhar” (₹28 crore).

Maharashtra, NCR, Karnataka, Gujarat and Telangana are the top contributors in the preview shows with collections of ₹8.18 crore, ₹6.31 crore, ₹5.30 crore, ₹3.06 crore and ₹2.22 crore, respectively.

It has become the first Bollywood franchise film to achieve this kind of milestone at the ticket windows. With new records shattering every day, “Dhurandhar 2” is now aiming to become the biggest opener for a Hindi film.

Apart from Singh, "Dhurandhar 2" also sees R. Madhavan (as Ajay Sanyal), Arjun Rampal (as Major Iqbal), Sanjay Dutt (as SP Chaudhary Aslam), Rakesh Bedi (as Jameel Jamali), Danish Pandor (as Uzair Baloch) and Sara Arjun (as Yalina Jamali) among others reprising their roles.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, this spy action thriller will also be released in dubbed versions of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, unlike the prequel. The film will lock horns with Pawan Kalyan-starrer “Ustaad Bhagat Singh.”
