Dhanush Teases ‘Vada Chennai 2’ Update at ‘Kara’ Event: ‘The Distance Is Not as Far as You Think’

In Dhanush’s impressive filmography, “Vada Chennai” is regarded as one of his finest performances. While there have been periodic updates about this gangster crime drama’s sequel, now the actor himself teased “Vada Chennai 2” at the pre-release event of “Kara.”

At the event, Dhanush revealed his hairstyle, which was reminiscent of one of his looks from the 2018 Vetri Maaran directorial. The actor said, ‘‘‘Vada Chennai 2’ will arrive soon. It will come with a bang. To win, first, we have to fight. The distance is not as far as you think. It has come closer. The sequel, which was announced earlier, has faced multiple delays due to the other work commitments of the actor and director. Vetri Maaran is currently shooting “Arasan,” a spin-off from “Vada Chennai.”

The gangster drama features Silambarasan in dual roles along with Vijay Sethupathi, Andrea Jeremiah, Samuthirakani and Kishore in key roles. The film is bankrolled by Kalaippuli S Thanu under the banner of V Creations, while the music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.  

Coming back to “Kara,” it marks director Vignesh Raja’s second project, “Por Thozhil.” The film also stars Mamitha Baiju, Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, K.S. Ravikumar, and Karunas in prominent roles. The film is set to hit the screens on April 30.

Apart from “Kara,” Dhanush’s line-up includes “D55” with Rajkumar Periyasamy, “D56” with Tamizharasan Pachamuthu and a film with Mari Selvaraj.
