‘Bloodhounds 2’: Hwang Chang-sung’s Epic Tunnel Fight Scene Goes Viral; Here’s a Lowdown On the 2PM Idol and Actor

“Bloodhounds 2” has become the top Netflix show in many nations, especially in Asia. The second season of Jason Kim’s action-packed boxing drama is being praised for the acting performances of its lead cast. While Park Seo-joon’s cameo has caught everyone’s attention, Hwang Chang-sung, who plays Tae-geom in the series, has been noticed all over.

The tunnel fight scene where Rain (Baek-jeong) and he shower blows and kicks on each other has gone viral. Hwang Chang-sung has done quite a few Korean dramas, but this is the first time he has caught the attention of global viewers with such aplomb. Here is all that you need to know about the 2PM member.

2PM Idol

Like many others, Hwang Chang-sung began his career as an idol for JYP Entertainment’s band 2PM. He is still managed by them. A singer, songwriter, rapper and composer, Chang-sung is fluent in Korean and Japanese. The management saw potential in him, which is why he got recruited as a trainee in 2PM despite being eliminated from a survival show.

Martial arts enthusiast

If you are impressed by his smooth and flawless moves in the action scenes of “Bloodhounds 2,” do not be surprised. He has a third-degree black belt in taekwondo and also learnt Kumdo (Gumdo). It is a Korean martial art focused on swordsmanship.

Drama outings

While he has done a few dramas before, fans will remember him as Go Gwi-nam from the blockbuster show, “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim.” His character as the extremely frugal office-goer was a pivotal one in the show’s huge ensemble cast. In the 2021 blockbuster, “Vincenzo,” he did an interesting cameo featuring his 2PM bandmate Ok Taec-yeon.

Role in ‘Bloodhounds 2’

Many felt that he had the best character progression in season two. From a ruthless accomplice of Baek-jeong (Rain) to joining hands with the cops, he nailed all the emotions. Fans even felt sorry when he met his brutal end.
