Nikkhil Advani’s “The Revolutionaries,” starring Rohit Saraf and Bhuvan Bam alongside Pratibha Ranta and Gurfateh Pirzada, will premiere worldwide on September 11, 2026 on Prime Video. The Hindi period series follows four revolutionary figures and their armed resistance against the British Empire during India’s freedom struggle.
Based on Sanjeev Sanyal’s book “Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom,” the series is created and directed by Advani and produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under Emmay Entertainment.
Bhuvan Bam plays Rash Behari Bose, while Saraf portrays Sachindra Nath Sanyal. Ranta plays Pratibha Lahiri and Pirzada portrays Bagha Jatin. Jason Shah, Paoli Dam and Tota Roy Chowdhury also feature in key roles.

Set against the backdrop of the Indian freedom movement, “The Revolutionaries” follows the four young revolutionaries as they pursue armed resistance against British rule. The series examines their friendships, sacrifices, betrayals and personal choices while exploring their efforts to mobilise a wider resistance.
The show is written by Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh, Akshita Wadhwana, Shobhit Narang and Rutvi Mehta. Inspired by true events, it draws from Sanyal’s account of revolutionary movements and figures that have received comparatively less attention in mainstream narratives of India’s independence.
Advani has described the series as a character-driven action drama centred on rebellion, sacrifice, friendship and freedom. The filmmaker has also highlighted the opportunity to bring lesser-known revolutionaries and their stories to a wider audience through the series.
“The Revolutionaries” marks another collaboration between Advani, Emmay Entertainment and Prime Video. Advani previously created and directed “Mumbai Diaries,” which premiered on the streamer in 2021 and returned for a second season in 2023.
