First Look: Arshad Warsi to Play Dual Roles for First Time in ‘Jeevan Bheema Yojana’ (EXCLUSIVE)
Arshad Warsi is set to play a double role for the first time in his career in the upcoming Hindi crime comedy thriller “Jeevan Bheema Yojana,” Variety has learned. Directed by Abhishek Dogra (“Dolly Ki Doli,” “FryDay”), the film also stars Sanjeeda Shaikh, Vijay Raaz, Pooja Chopra and Bijendra Kala. Production has wrapped and the film is currently in post-production ahead of its release.
Produced by Anshu Mishra under the banner of Star Beam Ventures Ltd, formerly known as BlueGod Entertainment Ltd, “Jeevan Bheema Yojana” centers on a debt-ridden couple whose attempt to solve their financial troubles sets off a chain of unintended consequences.
The story follows Jeevan and his wife Yojana as they struggle under mounting debt. Their circumstances appear to change when they encounter Bheema, a stranger who bears an uncanny resemblance to Jeevan. The discovery leads to a scheme involving an insurance payout, but the plan unravels after the man believed to be dead is linked to a diamond-smuggling operation.

The film marks the first time Warsi has portrayed two characters in the same feature, with the narrative built around the intersecting lives of the lookalike men. Blending elements of crime, comedy and mistaken identity, the project explores themes of financial desperation, deception and the consequences of a decision that spirals beyond the protagonists’ control.
“'Jeevan Bheema Yojana' is a film about ordinary people making one extraordinary, catastrophic decision and then spending the rest of the film paying for it,” Dogra said in a statement. “The genre is dark comedy, but the heart of it is very human: greed, desperation, love, and the terrible momentum of a lie you can’t stop telling.”
Arshad Warsi is known for films including “Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.,” “Ishqiya” and “Jolly LLB.” A release date for “Jeevan Bheema Yojana” has yet to be announced.
