Aatish Kapadia and JD Majethia’s ‘Chumbak’ Part 2 Set to Premiere on October 1 (EXCLUSIVE)
The comedy-drama series “Chumbak” will drop its second part on October 1, Variety India has learned exclusively. The Netflix show released Part 1, comprising eight episodes, on September 10. Less than a month later, the team is ready to share the remaining half of the story.
Set in the titular colony, the series follows five families living in a row-house settlement in Mumbai. Written and directed by Aatish Kapadia, with JD Majethia producing, “Chumbak” brings old-school Hindi television sensibilities back to the screen with its chaotic, nostalgic sitcom-style storytelling.
The ensemble cast includes Neena Gupta, Sandeepa Dhar, Manasi Parekh, Helly Shah, Amyra Dastur, Sumeet Vyas, Anant Joshi, Arjun Bijlani, Deven Bhojani, Delnaaz Irani, Sumeet Raghavan and Atul Kumar. The cast will reprise their respective roles in Part 2.

In “Chumbak” Part 2, the uproar in the colony continues as Priyanka’s (Manasi Parekh) son files for divorce, drawing all the families into a debate over parenting. Meanwhile, Mickey and Twinkle’s marriage comes under scrutiny, leading to a series of misunderstandings that put further strain on the friendships across the colony. Amid the chaos, Rajni (Neena Gupta) and Kuku (Deven Bhojani) try their best to make amends.
