What’s next for Dexter Sol Ansell after ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’?
Amongst the current crop of child TV actors giving adult counterparts a run for their money, ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ actor Dexter Sol Ansell takes the egg. After charming everyone as the young Aegon ‘Egg’ Targaryen on HBO’s second ‘Game of Thrones’ spinoff, it’ll be interesting to see which projects the promising young actor has lined up.
At a mere 11, Dexter Sol Ansell has managed a feat that many couldn’t. He, along with his screen partner Peter Claffey, who plays Ser Duncan the Tall, made Westeros interesting again and brought back the excitement of 'Game of Thrones' Mondays. After the less-than-hot response to House of the Dragon season 2, many believed ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, based on George R.R. Martin’s ‘Dunk & Egg’ novellas, was a losing bet. But show creator Ira Parker’s adherence to Martin’s work, and the endearing performances from the cast, led by Ansell, have produced a winner.

So where does young Ansell go from here? The actor is currently back in the squire saddle and shooting for ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ season 2. The filming is expected to wrap in June 2026, with a release slated for sometime in 2027.
For now, Ansell stars in Morgan Matthews’ drama film, ‘500 Miles’, alongside Bill Nighy and Roman Griffin Davis (‘Jojo Rabbit’). The film, set in Ireland, follows two young boys who decide to visit their estranged grandfather, and Ansell plays the younger brother, Charlie, to Davis’ Finn. The film also stars Westeros alum, Maisie Williams, who played Arya Stark on ‘Game of Thrones’. ‘500 Miles’ had its premiere at the Dublin International Film Festival in February 2026.
Before ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, Dexter Sol Ansell’s major acting credits included playing a young Coriolanus Snow in ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes’ and a recurring role in the British soap opera, ‘Emmerdale’, amongst others.
