‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’: Andhra Pradesh Govt Allows Benefit Shows and Ticket Hike for Pawan Kalyan Starrer

Pawan Kalyan’s "Ustaad Bhagat Singh"  is one of the most prominent releases of the year and is set to clash with Ranveer Singh-led "Dhurandhar: The Revenge"  at the box office. The film has now received a major boost after the Andhra Pradesh government passed an order allowing benefit shows instead of premiere screenings and permitting ticket price hikes for the first 10 days of its release.

It was earlier reported that Ustaad Bhagat Singh would hold premiere shows on March 18, similar to "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" , which is already recording strong advance numbers. However, the new order only permits the makers to conduct benefit shows on March 19. This means the film can now add early morning shows from around 4 or 5 a.m., with ticket prices reportedly going up to ₹500.

The government has also allowed the makers to increase ticket prices by ₹100 in single-screen theatres and by ₹125 in multiplexes for the first 10 days of the film’s run. However, only a limited number of shows per day can be screened with the revised ticket pricing. Mythri Movie Makers, the producers of the Pawan Kalyan starrer, had requested the state government for this permission.

It remains to be seen whether Telangana will allow a similar ticket hike. During the release of They Call Him OG, when the Pawan Kalyan starrer was granted permission for a price hike through a government order, the Telangana High Court struck it down.

Meanwhile, "Dhurandhar: The Revenge,"  which is also releasing in Telugu, is expected to be a major competitor for "Ustaad Bhagat Singh" . Both films are scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, 2026.
