Tejasswi Prakash On Success of ‘Laughter Chefs’ S3, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary’s Act In ‘Naagin 7’ (EXCLUSIVE)
Tejasswi Prakash is on cloud nine. Her OTT show, “Psycho Saiyyan" on Amazon MX Player has done well, and “Laughter Chefs” S3 is also a bonafide success on the TRP charts. She is a part of the ensemble cast with her real-life beau, Karan Kundrra and a host of other stars. In a chat she spoke about why she feels “Laughter Chefs” S3 is such a hit with the audiences.
'Laughter Chefs' is doing really well on the TRP charts. According to you, what has clicked with the audience over the seasons?
Honestly, the biggest plus point is it's not a stressful reality show. It is a competitive reality show and yet not like the others. On "Laughter Chefs," everyone loves cooking, but it's not like if we don't cook well we will be out of the race. This brings out the fun element of cooking which I really believe is how your mood should be when you're cooking a meal. It brings out that essence beautifully.
You seem to enjoy reality shows a lot….
So, I really feel like reality shows have their own plus point and a fiction or daily soap has its own. It is a totally different energy. The fun element is different. I don't see why any actor wouldn't want to do a show like “Laughter Chefs.”

Is there a particular reason why you have been avoiding daily soaps?
No, I'm honestly not avoiding them. Yes, there was a phase when I thought probably I shouldn't do a fiction show right now. I should challenge myself more. But then I have come to a realization that it truly doesn't matter. The medium or show does not matter that much. As an actor, I would love to be in touch with the craft as much as I can and that can literally be on any platform. It is not like a complete no-no to television. I would always be welcoming towards any good role and any amazing story. It has to be something challenging for me as an actor and that can be on any platform, television, OTT, films or whatever.
You did a Marathi movie in between. A lot of TV actors say it takes a lot of hard work to break into films or OTT. How much do you work on your craft?
This is hundred per cent true. There is a huge difference in how to present your craft in both television or OTT or films. In Marathi films, acting is looked upon as a very serious art form. Actors there take their craft very seriously and their way of working is totally different to that of television. I feel TV also doesn't have so much time as you need to meet telecast deadlines. So, you need to rush, you need to learn your lines, and be ready. You need to always be in a good mood if you want to give a decent take.
How do you like Priyanka Chahar Choudhary as the new 'Naagin'?
I love her as the new Naagin. I think she's doing an absolutely fab job. The numbers speak for themselves. The show is doing amazingly well on TV. AI couldn't be happier for both her and the franchise.
How comfortable are you with the focus on Karan Kundrra and your personal life?
I am obviously more than comfortable about it because we fell in love on a reality show. So our love story is pretty much out there. They like the both of us together. We love the love and blessings we get. And I think that's why I love this love.
