‘Scary Movie 6’ Trailer: Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Shawn and Marlon Wayans Reunite To Spoof ‘Scream,’ ‘Sinners,’ ‘Get Out’ And ‘Weapons’

After 13 years of "Scary Movie 5," which made parodies of "Paranormal Activity," "Black Swan" and "Inception," Paramount Pictures has unveiled the trailer for the latest installment (“Scary Movie 6”) in the franchise.

The movie marks the reunion of Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Shawn and Marlon Wayans after 18 years as Brenda, Cindy, Ray and Shorty. “Scary Movie 6” has parodied several horror movies in its trailer, including “Sinners,” “Weapons,” “Megan,” “The Substance,” and Netflix’s “Wednesday,” along with a subway scene from “Scream 6.”

Directed by Michael Tiddes​, the movie is written by Marlon, Shawn and Keenen Ivory Wayans, along with Rick Alvarez. “Scary Movie 6” also features Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg​ Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott,​ Dave Sheridan, Heidi Gardner, Lochlyn Munro, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber,​ Savannah Lee Nassif​ and Sydney Park​ in prominent roles.

The latest part intends to push boundaries without restraint, as the tagline says, “Every line will be crossed.”

The first “Scary Movie,” which was released in 2000, emerged as one of the highest-grossing, R-rated horror movies of all time. It was directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans.

The parody franchise, which enjoys global popularity, has grossed over $896 million worldwide across its first five films.

Bankrolled by Miramax with Jonathan Glickman, Alexandra Loewy and Thom Zadra as executive producers, “Scary Movie 6” is scheduled to release on June 12.
