“Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo”, the 2016 K-Drama, was made with a star-studded cast comprising Lee Joong Gi, Lee Ji Eun (IU), Kang Ha Neul, Nam Joo Hyuk and Byun Baek Hyun, among others. While the show itself did not premiere to promising ratings, it went on to attain cult K-Drama status among fans of the genre and continues to be widely talked about. 10 years later, GMMTV has picked up the story based on the Chinese novel “Bu Bu Jing Xin” for a Thai show remake.

Called “Scarlet Heart Thailand,” the show brings on popular actors from the label for a spin on the popular storyline. In the newly released trailer, Fongnuan (Tu Tontawan) is transported 300 years into the past. There she wakes up in the body of Naboon, a noblewoman and has to maneuver through royal politics and romance.

The trailer presents an ancient look at Thailand, where Naboon and the many princes get entangled in a game of jealousy and manipulation. As she becomes familiar with the many ways of the royal house, she develops feelings for more than one person. Meanwhile, her equation with Mueang Fah (Win Metawin) becomes the central plot. She develops unique bonds with each of the characters that she meets in the other realm.

As the fight to come out on top grows intense with many names coveting the throne, their relationships get more tense. Naboon’s life is threatened and her loyalties tested as she tries to manage her associations while wondering if she can go back to where she came from.

“Scarlet Heart Thailand” premiers on November 4.
