Ryan Gosling’s ‘Project Hail Mary’ Avoids Clash With Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’; To Now Release On THIS Date

The month of March is witnessing a shuffling of releases across the entertainment industry. Earlier, Yash-starrer Toxic moved from March 19 to June 4 amid the conflict in the Middle East. Later, Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh preponed its release date by a week, that is, March 19.

And now, Sony Pictures postponed the release date of their big-budget sci-fi adventure flick, “Project Hail Mary,” by one week in India to avoid box-office clash with Ranveer Singh starrer “Dhurandhar: The Revenge.”

The Hollywood movie, which was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on March 20, will now arrive on March 26.

This decision by the makers deserves appreciation as the battle with Ranveer’s spy-actioner might have impacted screen showcasing as well box-office numbers. With a postponement by a week, “Project Hail Mary” will have a chance to get a good number of screens and shows across the country.

Based on the novel by Andy Weir ( author of The Martian), the film follows Ryland Grace, played by Ryan Gosling, a lone astronaut who wakes up aboard a mysterious spacecraft with no memory of who he is or the mission that brought him there.

Directed by the filmmaking duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, Project Hail Mary also features the ensemble cast, including Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung and Milana Vayntrub.

Apart from its original language, “Project Hail Mary” will also be released in its dubbed versions Hindi, Tamil and Telugu across IMAX and other premium large formats.
