The Indian reality TV scene is thriving like never before. In fact, "Rise And Fall," which had its first season last year, will likely feature 1990s superstar Govinda. Variety India has reliably learnt that he has been approached, is pretty excited about being a part of the show and is closing negotiations. If all goes well, this will mark Govinda’s debut in the reality TV space as a contestant. The actor, who once hosted "Jeeto Chappar Phaad Ke," made his last appearance on “Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa” on the day of Sunita Ahuja’s exit. She left the show due to health reasons and he came to pick her up. Over the years, he has guest-starred on numerous talent-based reality shows like “Indian Idol,” “Dance India Dance” and “Super Dancer,” to name a few. He has appeared on Salman Khan’s “Bigg Boss.”

Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja’s marriage has been making headlines for some time. She has been taking digs at the actor’s alleged closeness with Komal Rani Swarnkar claiming that he wants to marry her. Additionally, videos of the actor at a club in Thailand went viral. In December 2024, Sunita filed for divorce at Bandra Family Court citing adultery, cruelty and desertion as reasons. A few days back, his manager confirmed that she had withdrawn the case and that their disputes have been settled amicably.

“Rise And Fall” is based on the British show created by Studio Lambert, hosted by Greg James. The first season was hosted by Ashneer Grover, co-founder of BharatPe, and was on the panel of “Shark Tank India." Govinda has been busy with events in India and internationally in recent times.
