Ranbir Kapoor and Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’: Key Epic Moments From the First Glimpse
Producer Namit Malhotra, director Nitesh Tiwari and the team of “Ramayana,” led by Ranbir Kapoor, finally dropped the first detailed glimpse of the film today, and for a project this massive, the biggest curiosity was always going to be this: what exactly are they choosing to show from one of the most layered and widely retold epics ever?
The new glimpse does not just reveal the visual world of the film; it also quietly hints at the narrative spine of Part One. While the teaser opens with war imagery and a larger sense of scale, some of its most important moments are tucked into blink-and-miss visuals that seem to confirm key chapters from the story. From Lord Rama performing what looks like Jatayu’s last rites to Ravana’s Pushpak Vimaan entering the frame, the film appears to be laying out the emotional beats very carefully.
Here are three major “Ramayana” chapters that the glimpse seems to confirm.
Sita Swayamvar
One of the clearest sections hinted at in the glimpse is the Swayamvar, and that alone is enough to tell us the film is not rushing through the early emotional setup of Rama and Sita. We see Kapoor as Ram lifting the bow that he broke to win Sita’s hand in marriage at the Swayamwar. A few visuals seem to suggest a grand ceremonial setting, and if that is indeed the Swayamvar sequence, it means the film will likely take time to establish their bond before the larger conflict takes over. This is a crucial chapter because it is not just about their union; it is also one of the earliest moments where Rama’s calm strength becomes publicly visible. If executed well, this could end up being one of the most visually rich portions of the film.

Leaving for Vanvas
Another major beat the glimpse appears to confirm is the exile chapter: Rama, Sita and Lakshman leaving Ayodhya for Vanvas. This is where the emotional engine of the story truly begins, and the teaser leans into it fully. The mood of some of the visuals carries a clear sense of departure, grief and transition rather than just spectacle. This chapter is essential because it marks the beginning of sacrifice, duty and separation, which are really the pillars of “Ramayana.” If the film is building its first part around this emotional arc, it makes complete sense.
Dandak Forest Battle
The glimpse also strongly points toward the Dandak forest chapter, which means the film is likely going deep into the stretch where danger begins to properly close in. This includes the escalating threat around Sita, the demon encounters and the larger shift from exile drama to action. If the forest battle portions are indeed part of the film, it also suggests that “Ramayana” is not holding back on the scale of its action design. This is where the tone of the story changes, and the glimpse seems to be teasing exactly that shift.
“Ramayana: Part One" will release on Diwali 2026 and “Ramayana: Part Two” on Diwali 2027.
